Business Chinese

Have you already got the basics of Chinese down and are now looking to start earning your keep in China?

Our business Chinese program will give you an introduction to doing business in China, learning not only the essential vocabulary, but the customs needed to make that deal go through.

As many have found out the hard way, there is much more to doing business in China than just speaking the language, and our business Chinese program, in co-operation with the University of International Business and Economics is here to help!

Two essential ingredients to be successful in doing business in China are: a thorough understanding of the culture, and suitable knowledge of the Chinese language. The business Chinese program will teach you the vocabulary to conduct business in Chinese, write appropriately, and read the local newspapers.

Class is held at the University of International Business and Economics (UIBE), from Monday through Friday every morning from 8:30AM to 11:50AM. Afternoons and weekends are free to do homework that may be assigned, explore the city, and participate in our free social activities or weekend trips.

Courses offered include:

China's Foreign Trade and WTO

Managerial Theory of China's Business Management

Chinese Law on Foreign Trade

Introduction to Chinese Economics

Chinese Foreign Trade Practice

Introduction to Investment in China

All courses are taught at UIBE by some of the country's top professors. UIBE has been host to the Global Trade Development Forum and annual conferences on 'China and the WTO' among others. Afternoon electives, activities and trips are held together with the other Bridges to China program students.

Regular excursions are available to areas around Beijing and to nearby towns. Lectures and workshops on Chinese calligraphy, opera and drama, martial arts, and more are also regularly held on campus.

The business Chinese program takes place in North-Eastern Beijing, within easy access of the new overhead rail system and subway. The business Chinese campus is not far from the Lufthansa Centre, a Beijing landmark, and is within easy access of Beijing's Central Business District.
